About this event

**Disclaimer: This conversation will cover sensitive topics such as self harm and suicide. This presentation is not suitable for minors. This is a a free and open event - we’ll watch a video and learn together, then discuss our opinions. You’ll come away with a better understanding of AI and develop your own ideas about this transformational technology.** Last year, several teenagers tragically took their lives after extended conversations with AI chatbots that - rather than intervening - encouraged suicidal ideation, and even suggested methods of self harm. The families sued the companies, and although the lawsuits are ongoing, the chatbots are still available to the public today. Join us for a short video and discussion to explore the following questions:

• How did this happen?

• What safety measures are in place?

• What does it mean when AI malfunctions affect the most vulnerable?

This conversation is meant for parents, grandparents, teachers, and everyone who is concerned about how AI might affect the young people.
